Students at Sonoma State can earn a Minor, Major (B.A.), and/or M.A. degree in history.
- History minors must take a total of 22 units of history coursework.
- History majors must take at least 40 units of history coursework.
- History masters students must already have a B.A. degree and must then take 30 units of coursework in the department. At least 15 units of the M.A. program must be graduate courses at the 500-level.
To graduate with distinction with a B.A. in history, candidates should have consistently achieved high academic marks, made significant contributions to the department, and/or overcome serious personal or professional hardships.
